We provide free basalt dust to our farm partners. When spread on farmlands, the basalt releases essential nutrients, promoting healthy crop growth and stabilising soil pH. This is critical to improve average crop yield and earn sustainable income.

The Technology
When it rains, basalt rock dust has the ability to trap CO2 and push it into river beds. The trapped carbon is transported from rivers into the oceans, which are stored in corals and seashells, locking CO2 for 10,000+ years.
Our technology is designed to measure the removal of CO2 across land, water and ultimately earn carbon credits. Mapping vast tracts of land, collecting soil samples, water samples and geological data at scale is a technological challenge that’s a strong moat to earning carbon credits.
Research & Development
Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) is a novel space. We want to be at the forefront of pioneering innovation in removing carbon at scale. We launched Darjeeling Climate Action Lab (D-CAL), a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to advancing ERW research and applications.
Alt Carbon’s D-CAL will overcome the constraints of sampling, testing and defining methodologies by processing up to 600,000 samples annually by 2025.
